Oklahoma City band BRONCHO crafts sing-along anthems that combine punk and garage-rock. You could make all the likely comparisons to punk bands of the '70s — Ramones, Iggy Pop and The Stooges — or even bring up the new-school garage-rock undertones of The Strokes and The Strange Boys. But that would sell the band short. If anything, it combines the best elements of both genres: raw guitar chords and energy, plus DIY sentiment, but with hi-fi production. - NPR
Perhaps the best debut album of 2011 came by way of BRONCHO, a garage-punk quartet from Norman, OK Frontman Ryan Lindsey is better known as the keyboardist for the Starlight Mints, but this side project has been touring the Midwest since early 2010. Can't Get Past the Lips hit stores August 2011, and "Try Me Out Sometime" was an instant standout. It's not a complex song, by any means, and the simplicity is fantastic because the execution is so strong. Three chords are plenty enough backdrop for Lindsey to yelp out the hooks. Watch the excellent music video, in which the band barges into unsuspecting, unlikely venues — stores, major intersections, a college classroom — and performs increasingly disastrous versions of the song before darting out. BRONCHO has never played a show outside a narrow corridor from Austin to Chicago, so coast-dwellers will have to cross their fingers for that to change soon. The blank tapes

THE BLANK TAPES is the moniker of Los Angeles & San Francisco based musician & artist, Matt Adams, who has produced over 10 albums of 1960's psychedelic-surf-pop-folk-rock on an old 8 track cassette tape recorder in various garages, basements, sheds & bedrooms across the California Coast. Matt is also the artist behind his band's posters & album covers, and along with his band mates, Pearl, DA, & Will, they've toured throughout America, Brazil, Europe, & Japan. They just released a 7" with 20-Sided Records and a few new cassette tapes with Burger Records, Curly Cassettes & Dome of Doom. They also have a new studio album called "VACATION" coming out on Antenna Farm Records Spring of 2013! Matt Adams is also the artist behind The Blank Tapes. Check out the website!
Tomorrows Tulips

Tomorrows Tulips formed on August 15th when alex bought a piccalo snare drum at the thrift store and handed it to Christina. The two spent 3 nights at Mike McQ's distillery studio organizing some sort of an idea on how to play together. While socializing with Mike and discussing what to call the group it became vaguely clear what to do. The duo consists of stripped down pop that often disregards professionalism in anyway shape and form. Absolute Fearlessness prevails in creating songs that revolve around subject matter that consists of flowers, happiness, love, haircuts, friends, and un-macho-ism. TT will continue to make songs on cassette tape and post them on the internet until the release of the full length album that will be recorded at the distillery in late September and released on vinyl, cassette and cd in October 2009. Then with a vw bug tour across America to follow.
